Abstract
Background: Nurses are at high risk for burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: This study aims to determine interventions to reduce nurse burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We conducted a systematic review by searching the following databases Scopus, ScienceDirect, PubMed and Emerald Insight searched from January 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021. We searched the database using search terms such as 'Intervention', 'Nurse Burnout', and 'COVID-19 '. Results: There is a limitation in terms of participants in this study where participants are nurses who work in hospitals. The interventions obtained from the articles included are Mantram Repetition Program (MRP), self-compassion program, music therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, use of Electronic Health Record (EHR), promoting procedural justice and personal identification, and increasing emotional intelligence. Conclusion: Almost all of the inclusion studies stated that there was a positive effect in reducing burnout. Interventions to reduce burnout in nurses are needed. Hospitals must play a role in reducing burnout in nurses to maintain the mental health of nurses, maintain patient safety, and the quality of health services.
