Abstract

It is estimated that geriatric population will be doubled in 2025. That increased number of population will result in more health problems occurred in elderly. Until now, there are no incidence data of dermatological problem in Geriatric Dermatology Division in dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Purpose to understand the incidence of dermatological conditions at geriatric dermatology division, dermatovenerology out patient clinic in dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in 2008-2013. Methods this is a retrospective study using outpatients medical records. All patients which were 60 years old or more with dermatological problems who were consulted to the clinic in the period of six years (2008-2013) were enrolled in this study. There were 2343 subjects enrolled, male 43,5% and female 56,5%. Most patients were in 60-65 years old group (53,1%). The most cases were dermatitis (28,85%), followed by skin tumor (17,50%), cosmetic disorders (12,46%), infectious disease (10,50%), xerosis cutis (6,27%), pruritus (5,42%), appendages disorder (4,95%), eritrosquamous dermatosis (4,27%), allergic condition and eruption (4,05%), and ulcer (1,71%). Irritative contact dermatitis was the most dermatitis case (26,18% of all dermatitis case).The most comorbidity found in the subjects was hypertension (22,34%). This study depicted the incidence of dermatological conditions of patients at geriatric dermatology division dermatovenerology out patient clinic in dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in 2008-2013. The 5 most skin diseases were almost the same year by year, they were dermatitis, skin tumor, cosmetic disorder, infectious disease, and xerosis cutis.
