N2 - The digital era substantially impacts the State Polytechnic of Malang as Indonesia's vocational higher education institution. This research aims to analyze the internal and external business environments, information systems, and information technology (IS/IT) aspects while formulating an information system strategic plan (ISSP) to achieve the institution's vision of being an excellent vocational higher education institution in global competition. Data were collected through interviews, surveys, and internal document analysis. The research uses the Ward and Peppard method, along with value chain, PESTEL, and critical success factor analysis. The result of this study is IS/IT strategic planning proposal for the State Polytechnic of Malang. Based on the McFarlan Strategic Grid mapping, it indicates retaining 5 applications, upgrading 8, and introducing 2 new IS applications. These applications are categorized into 1 application in the strategic quadrant, 2 in high potential, 6 in key operational, and 6 in support. In addition to enhancing students' technical capabilities and graduates's employability, which align with the distinctive attributes of vocational higher education, this research also proposes the implementation of Certification IS and the Electronic Job Placement Centre (E-JPC) to address the global challenges faced by the institution.
