Abstract

Electric cars are using electric motors as its drive train instead of using conventional engine and it is considerate as the future transportation which is not consume the fossil fuels and could be the solution for the environment issues. Induction motor is the most suitable electric drive for electric cars because it is simple, less maintenance and good driving cycle. Many studies has been developed in induction motor control. Space Vector Modulation (SVPWM) is used to control both the frequency and amplitude of inverters. This paper is intended to give simple technique to generate the SVPWM pulses and implement it in a FPGA. The implementation is done in NI CompactRIO system.
