Abstract
Introduction: Family support is needed to utilize health care facilities. One of the easi-
est family support for families with diabetes is emotional support. This study aims to iden- tify the emotional support relationship of type 2 diabetes mellitus family clients with the utilization of health service facilities in Tebet Subdistrict June 2018.
Method: The design in analytic study is cross sectional with a total sample of 100 type 2 DM clients. Data analysis uses Chi-Square correlation.
Result: The results of the study found a relationship between emotional support of DM clients' families with the utilization of health care facilities (p value 0.004, α: 0.05). Discussion: Nurses are expected to be able to provide optimal nursing care and increase the emotional support of the client's family in utilizing health care facilities with struc- tured health education, developing family nursing care by paying attention to the concept of family support for Type 2 DM clients in relation to the utilization of health service facil- ities and sub-district health centers must support success PTM program that has been pro- claimed by the central government in order to overcome further health problems.
