Abstract

Several patients are referred to Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital due to complicated gynecological problems, both biological and psychological, which affect their life. Therefore, a holistic biopsychosocial treatment should be implemented, which requires interprofessional cooperation. The aim of this study is to present gynecological cases requiring holistic treatment and interprofessional management. Seven patients with gynecological problems were admitted to Ciptomangunkusumo General Hospital during 2018 - 2019. The inclusion criteria were gynecological conditions requiring holistic management. Of the seven patients, three had endometriosis, one had adenomyosis, one had Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome, one had fistule vesicovaginal, and one had experienced sexual abuse. These patients were managed in collaboration with other professionals, including pediatricians, psychiatrists, and law experts. Moreover, the patient’s family should also be involved in patient management. The conclusion is that in complicated gynecological cases with a high difficulty level, holistic management plays an important role in treatment. An interprofessional approach also plays an important role to increase patients’ quality of life.
