title = "Green synthesis of iron based metal-organic framework by microwave and its potential as drug delivery system",
abstract = "The low distribution of drugs due to differences in drug polarity in the body is a major factor in the resulting high frequency of chemotherapy. The Mesoporous Metal-organic framework (MOF) material has the potential to overcome this as a drug carrier system with its hybrid nature. One class of hybrid materials that have high stability and the ability to carry both inorganic and organic materials is MIL-100 Fe but its synthesis is time consuming. In this study MIL-100 Fe has been synthesized with domestic microwaves by varying stage times and solvent. This green pathway successfully reduces time and the use of corrosive acids. Synthesis of this method takes 10 minutes and solvent Ethanol: Water with a ratio of 1: 1 to help its self-assembly. Resulting morphology is akin to solvothermal synthesized yet smaller and uniform on its surface with smallest particle size of 93.54 nm. FTIR, XRD, and SEM characterizations were carried out following in vitro analysis of the ability of MIL-100 Fe to carry aspirin using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and modeling the kinetic release of aspirin from MIL-100 Fe. The release of MIL-100 Fe followed Higuchi kinetics model with K value of 0.044 and a drug release of 43%. ",
