Abstract

DHF is a health problem that still persists in major cities. DKI Jakarta is the province with the most DHF patients in Indonesia. In order to control DHF, a trend of DHF in Gambir and Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta over the period of 2005-2009 needs to be obtained, consisting of the number of DHF cases, incidence, case fatality rate (CFR), and peak incidence of DHF. This
research used cross-sectional method to acquire the number of cases, incidence, CFR, and peak incidence in both districts in 2005-2009. The number of samples was calculated using EpiInfo. Total sampling was used, the number of which was greater than the number of samples calculated earlier. The variable in this research was DHF status based on health care reports available in District Health Care of Central Jakarta. It was concluded that the trend of DHF is decreasing in Gambir and Sawah Besar District, particularly in number of cases, incidence, and CFR. There is a difference in case proportions based on population density, but none in case proportions based on sex. There is a shift of peak incidence in both districts.
