First attempt to extract the low energy multipoles from kaon photoproduction data

Abstract

The low energy (W ≤ 2.0 GeV) electric and magnetic multipoles E, M have been extracted by using the available kaon photoproduction data. The angular momenta of the multipoles are limited up to l ≤ 4. To construct the background amplitude we use the covariant Feynman diagrams for the s-, t-, and u-channel intermediate states. The result is compared to the predictions of Kaon-Maid and other previous studies. The extracted multipoles provide very useful and practical secondary data for comparison with theoretical predictions, replacing the traditional cross section and other single or double polarization observables data.
