Fabrication and characterization of high-quality waveguide-mode resonant optical filters

Abstract

Low-loss, robust materials were used to design and fabricate the optical filters containing resonant waveguide gratings. The filters were designed with a computer code based on rigorous coupled-wave formulation of the mutilayer diffraction problem. High-quality filters exhibited high efficiency and narrowband reflectance with sideband compression over a broad spectral range.
