N2 - Evaporative cooling has been around since ancient times. As a cooling device, evaporative cooling has several advantages and disadvantages. This paper discusses some of the results of investigations on three types of evaporative cooling, namely direct evaporative cooling, indirect evaporative cooling, and combined evaporative cooling. Cooling media is part of the evaporative cooling that is widely studied. Some researchers also made several innovations to improve the efficiency of evaporative cooling. One of the innovations that will be discussed in this paper is to add heat pipes to evaporative coolers. As a passive heat transfer, heat pipes are expected to increase the efficiency of evaporative cooling without adding high cost.
