Abstract
Going home (mudik) or more commonly referred as return to home is an annual tradition in Indonesia. The atmosphere of mudik flow can be seen by the high traffic volume of private vehicles and intercity bus on national roads and on transroads between islands. From the available data, it is known that the number of accidents during the mudik period by land transportation in 2016 increased by 364 compared to that of 2015. The number of victims died itself has increased, while the number of severe and minor injuries decreased from 2015 to 2016. This paper aims to evaluate land traffic accidents during the mudik period. It is expected to find a solution to decrease the fatality rate during the mudik period in the future.
