Abstract

Business sustainability is a synergy of three pillars, namely; economic, social and environmental. Implementation is reflected in the performance of corporate social responsibility, so that CSR programs that have been characterized of being reactionary and charitable can be transformed into community development activities that encourage participatory planning with the community by providing program assistance for sustainability. This study aims to analyze and describe the extent of business sustainability through the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that transform caricature programs into community development programs by oil and gas companies in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach and is carried out with descriptive analysis methods using literature study of secondary data in the form of documents based on relevant references. The results of this study provided a CSR model with community development through mentoring and capacity building as a form of transformation from charity programs while encouraging sustainable business practices. This study is expected to be able to contribute to sustainability studies, particularly in the context of corporations with CSR models in the extractive industry.
