Abstract

The new γp → K+Λ forward-angle data obtained by the BGOOD collaboration have been studied by using an isobar model constructed from Feynman diagrams with the s-, t-, and u-channel contributions, where the unknown free parameters were adjusted in order to reproduce the experimental photoproduction data. The total number of experimental data used in this study were 9536 points. The result of this study was compared with those of previous investigations and experimental data. To this end, we used total cross section, differential cross section, and recoil polarization observables. From the comparison, we observed that the data can be nicely reproduced by the models, except in the very forward region (cos θ = 0.99). We suppose that this problem is caused from the s-channel contribution. Further study is required to settle this issue.
