Abstract
Overweight or obesity can increase a person's risk of developing a metabolic disorder leading to serious medical conditions. A 34-year-old male presented with a chief complaint of being overweight and wanted to lose weight. At present, he has no substantial complaints related to his health. He is trying to be physically active. At the beginning of the program, his body mass index (BMI) was 29.5 kg/m2 and waist circumference was 96 cm. He managed to have a negative energy balance; his average food intake per day was 1510 kcal, whereas the output was 2419 kcal per day. He was diagnosed as having grade I obesity with central obesity. After two months of increasing physical activity via structured exercise twice per week and increasing leisure time physical activity, his health indicators are improving, with decreased visceral fat level.
