Abstract
This researh was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of safety communication that has been implemented at the PT XYZ oil and gas field in Kalimantan. The numbers 479 participants followed online survey. There are four criterias including average score for communication effectiveness assessment consist of openness and objectivity 8.3, updated and relevance of information 8.2, easy of understanding 8.2, and creating positive feedback 8.0. The average score of all the effectiveness communication criteria is 8.175, it’s mean as “effective” level. The communication barrier was potential available at work location as such educational level, working experience, worker status and job position. A Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to assess the correlation between communication restriction factors and communicaion effectiveness criteria. Found some correlation with significant P value < 0.05 as such educational factor with openness and objectivity criteria, worker status factor with updated relevance of information and creating positive feedback criteria, then job position factor with openness and objectivity, updated relevance of information and easy of understanding citeria. However, it wasn’t found any correlation of the working experience factor.
