Abstract

e-Government system can support the government in serving the public. Currently, e-Government specifically appears in various paradigms. The newest is e-Livestock that is closely related to e-Government in the field of livestock. Since it is relatively new, it will be hard to define what e-Livestock is. In this paper, the definition of e-Livestock for Indonesia, which has been formulated in previous work, will be adjusted based on input from several experts and stakeholders in the field of livestock in Indonesia. In addition, some expected benefits and challenges of e-Livestock in Indonesia will also be identified in this paper using several methods in the qualitative research, i.e. interview and hermeneutic. The adjusted definition along with the expected benefits and the challenges lists that have been identified in this research can be used as a material consideration when implementing e-Livestock in Indonesia. It is expected that all the challenges that have been identified subsequently be solved, and all the expected benefits are maximized, so that the implementation of e-Livestock in Indonesia will be successful.
