Dual-Wideband - Linearly and Circularly Polarized C-Band Antenna for VSAT Application

Abstract

C-Band VSAT is one of telecommunication infrastructure that is suitable for a tropical archipelago country because it has wide range and more resistant towards rain attenuation. This paper proposed a C-Band horn antenna design as feeder for VSAT antenna with characteristic dual polarization - linear and circular, and dual wideband. The antenna design combines and modifies conical and corrugated horn with septum perturbation. The proposed antenna has achieved a working frequency downlink at 3.7 to 4.2 GHz and uplink at 5.925 to 6.425 GHz. The antenna beamwidth varies from 22.3 until 38.4 degree and can achieve a gain of 18.30 dB.
