Abstract

In the title compound, C20H36O6·H3O+·Br3 -, the torsion angles of the individual O - C - C - O segments of the macrocyclic strand are ag + a, ag - a, ag + a, ag - a, ag + a and ag - a. Both cyclo-hexane rings adopt chair conformations. The hydroxonium ion is anchored in the crown-ether cavity by O - H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In addition, the hydroxonium ion is also involved in O - H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The value of the Flack parameter indicates inversion twinning.
