Development of the Data Acquisition System for Psychrometric Chamber in Universitas Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to create a data acquisition (DAQ), control system, and graphical user interface (GUI) for the psychrometric chamber in Universitas Indonesia that adheres to standards and fulfils user needs. NI LabVIEW will be used for building the system's DAQ and GUI, with LabVIEW's virtual PID controller as the basis for the control system. The DAQ system has been connected with accurate readings using normalization equations. The control system has managed to meet standards, with testing that shows ±0.2°C and ±0.3°C temperature variations for indoor and outdoor chamber rooms, respectively. The GUI has been created with capabilities to visualize and save measurement data, along with the ability to calculate cooling capacity for further development. Through this work, the DAQ, control system, and GUI can be utilized for full HVAC equipment testing procedures in the future.
