N2 - This research aims to reduce salt imports in the aluminum industry sector, leading to reduce industrial aluminum waste that is disposed of in landfill. Here, optimization of local salt as a drossing flux for processing aluminum dross in the aluminum casting process was performed. In this research, the drossing flux based on Na2SO4-Na2[SiF6]-NaCl-NaNO3- NH4Cl of local salt is utilized as the base material to extract molten aluminum from black dross aluminum AlSi10Mg. The mass ratio of drossing flux tomolten material was 1:10, while a casting temperature was varied at 760oC and 800oC. The smelting process uses a ceramic crucible furnace and stirred at 7 rpm and fluxing time for 10 minutes. The results of this study indicate that the percentage of recovered aluminum obtained at a temperature of 760oC is 34.13%, while at a temperature of 800oC the percentage is 46.03%. In addition, recovered aluminum from local salt of drossing flux has better fluidity and mechanical properties than the aluminum casting of AlSi10Mg without flux.
