N2 - Fiber optics is an advanced ICT infrastructure supporting rapid technology development because it is better than copper wire. Fiber optic offers high capacity and is interference-free. In the Metinaro Army Camp, FTTH technology-based GPON standard can support telecommunication needs to support reliable communications for daily military activities. This paper proposed a design of an FTTH network in that area by considering star topology network distribution. Based on calculations and simulations, this paper considers the power link budget, rise time, and BER parameters. The received power of upstream and downstream are -22.5598 dBm and -22.4814 dBm, respectively, higher than the minimum required value of -28 dBm. The rise time of upstream and downstream are 0.2865 ns and 0.2868 ns, which is lower than the NRZ requirement value of 0.583 ns and 0.292 ns. BER for upstream and downstream are 9.8428e-9 and 5.7543e-9. From these parameters, the proposed design shows fulfill the determined requirements. Therefore, it can be a reference for further FTTH deployment in a residential area.
