Abstract
Safety is the most important aspect in the operation of transportation services. Statistical data from the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) shows that train accidents in Indonesia are mostly caused by infrastructure factors, which is 69% of the total factors that cause train accidents. Accidents are dominated by derailment as much as 73% of all types of train accidents. NTSC research shows that the type of crash that occurs has a contributing factor in the form of problems with rail infrastructure, especially rail irregularity. The most common rail irregularity problem based on research conducted by NTSC is dynamic twist. Dynamic twist is a condition where actual height difference between two points along 3m in one rail section occured. This situation will have the potential to make train derailment. Dynamic twist measurement is carried out when the train is passing through a railroad section. The movement of train on a railroad has a regular operating pattern so that measurements must be carried out continuously. So, we need a system that can continuously monitor the potential of a rail line so that dynamic twist does not occur. The system that will be made consists of two main modules, namely a module that will be used as a direct detector of the rail road which will hereinafter be referred to as an endpoint and a module that will be used by the control center as a data receiver for the detection results. The results of testing this system indicate that this tool can detect track twists and send data to the control center with an accuracy of 95% with a degree of accuracy in mm. This system can detect early potential train accidents caused by track twist and help train operators in Indonesia to optimize rail road maintenance.
