Design and Analysis of FTTH GPON Based on Field Condition for Flats in DKI Jakarta

Abstract

The construction of low-cost apartments or flats in DKI Jakarta continues to increase to meet the housing needs of the people of DKI, who have low-class economic standards. It is necessary to study the planning for developing a GPON-based FTTH network to meet the digital life of the residents of the flats. This paper discusses the FTTH network design study that selects the Pinus Elok Flats Block B located in Pulo Gebang/Gilingan, Cakung District, East Jakarta. As one of the pilot project designs, the results are expected to be a reference for developing the FTTH network in other DKI Jakarta flats. The results of the design with a total home-pass number of 360 units respectively for downstream and upstream are a Link Loss Budget of 23.54 dB and 23.57 dB, the received power of -18.54 dBm and 18.57dBm, Power Margin >5dB, Risetime of 0.256 ns, SNR of 25.56 dB and 27.57 dB and BER of l. 29x10{-21} and 5.27x10{-31}. As a result, the design complies with ITU G-984 GPON standards and is feasible for implementation.
