Abstract
This article reviews the sexual harassment experienced by female dangdut singers as female workers. Research data was collected through in depth interviews with four female dangdut singers in DKI Jakarta. The collected data was then observed specifically in regards to the practice of saweran, and was analyzed through the perspective developed by MacKinnon (1979). The research yields result that the ideological background of dangdut music was dominated by the interest and taste of men, and as such was constructed and controlled by the desires of men. It was such situation built upon unequal power relations that served as the basis for the development of sexual harassment towards the female dangdut singers. This is why they need to negotiate, be it with themselves, their relations, or the conditions.
