N2 - One of the most important parameters for engine performance is a fuel that is used, the quality of its fuel as well as the value of the octane number. Gasoline fuel that distributed in the markets in Indonesia has a lot of value of octane number. For example, there are Gasoline 88, Gasoline 92, and Gasoline 98. These three types of fuel have different octane numbers and different prices. Most people just consider the price in its use without regard to existing specifications. This paper investigates the effect of using Gasoline with different values of octane number on performance and exhaust pollutant emissions of a four strokes 150 cc single cylinder spark-ignition (SI) engine without any modifications, in AVL dyno engine test. Experiments were conducted at maximal load or wide open throttle (WOT) and different engine speeds ranging from 1000 to 2500 rpm. Engine power, torque, specific fuel consumption and exhaust pollutant emissions were measured during each experiment.
