Abstract

In this paper, the capacity of spectrally overlaid narrowband code division multiple access (NCDMA) and wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) system using single code and multicode will be analysed. The system is made to bring multiclass services, in where the N-CDMA will be used to serve voice communication and W-CDMA is used for high speed data transmitting. Two different methods are used for data transmission. The first one is the conventional method that uses different spreading gain for transmitting different class of service, and the second one is multicode. It is shown that the capacity of the system using multicode is better than that of system using single code.
