Abstract
The design development of AZ31B magnesium biomaterial determines its strength and comfort in actual applications. Bone plate design is carried out to provide optimal design when biomaterials are used. The design of the bone plate is carried out using Solidworks software with variations in the location of the holes that will be designed so that they can distribute the pressures that occur on the bone. The function of the bone plate as a support for broken bones is as a tool to help the fracture healing process. Before manufacturing, a simulation analysis was carried out with the help of Ansys software using the static structure method because in real conditions the bone plate as a support receives a static force. Ansys analysis shows that DCP Straight Plates have higher mechanical properties than DCP Broad Plates. Then mechanical testing uses three-point bending to ensure the bone plate can withstand loads parallel and perpendicular to the bone plate. This study highlights the importance of stress distribution in bone healing and the potential benefits of the DCP Broad Plate design in distributing stress effectively when applied under real conditions.
