Abstract
BACKGROUND: Mucogingival problems that have a fairly high frequency in the periodontia include gingival recession, an inadequate of attached gingival, and low vestibule. An inadequate attached gingiva! can grease the risk of gingival inflammation due to plaque and calculus, gingival recession, etc. Those conditions require treatment with periodontal plastic surgery procedures. There are many kind of plastic surgical penodontal therapy, one of which is the free gingival autograft. This procedure has a success rate which is good enough to increase the number of attached gingival OBJECTIVE: Periodontal plastic surgery with free gingival autograft is expected to increase the number of attached gingiva, which reduce the risk of gingival recession and gingival inflammation METHOD: Therapy using a froe gingival autograft donor of palatal mucosa on patient who have an inadequate attached gingiva, low vestibule distance (1 mm) in the anterior region of the mandible. RESULTS: There are an increasing number of attached gingival (2-3 mm) and the deepening of the vestibule (3 mm) on the areas treated with the free gingival autograft CONCLUSIONS: The treatment using free gingival autograft can deliver satisfactory results in increasing the number of attached gingival and deepening of the vestibule.
