Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus which is indicated by high amount of glucose in blood became one of serious problem in Indonesia. Inhibition of enzymes responsible for causing liberation of glucose level considered to have important role in overcoming Diabetes mellitus. Activity of α-glucosidase and α-amylase enzyme inhibition assay was held to 13 species from Clusiaceae family. α-glucosidase enzyme inhibition assay used acarbose as positive standard and showed 91.17 μg/mL of IC50 value. Those which had IC50 value less than Acarbose were 14 sampels with IC50 value ranged in 22,89 to 89,91 μg/mL. Meanwhile, The most potent inhibition activity of α-amylase were methanol extract of Clusiaceae family ranged from 6.48 to 40.39μg/mL
