Abstract

In this paper, a microstrip antenna integrated with low noise amplifier (AILNA) is presented for operating frequency 1575.42 MHz of L1 GPS band. The AILNA consists of a single passive antenna and an LNA which are designed and simulated using CST Microwave Studio and Advance Design Studio. From the simulation result, this AILNA obtained 28.4 dBi of gain, whereas measured gain has 14.77 dBi. Both simulated and measured results showed antenna has circular polarization with axial ratio value under 3 dB, which is 1.58 dB and 1.21 dB respectively. Circular polarization bandwidth (CPWB) from the simulation is 60 MHz, and measurement achieved 25 MHz. For measured return loss, operating frequency has-23.42 dB and 90 MHz of impedance bandwidth. Overall, the dimension of the AILNA is 40 mm x 88.5 mm, a compact design that is suitable for GPS antenna specification.
