N2 - Smartphones have become ubiquitous nowadays, providing a lot of functions to users from communication to leisure. One aspect which has not yet been tapped greatly is the use of smartphones to aid learning process of students. In this work, an educational tool named SensorLab is proposed. Comprising of an Android-based application which is connected wirelessly to Arduino and three different sensors, the developed prototype is targeted to improve the learning and interest of students toward the field of Mechatronics. Simple logic and gaming functions are also added to the application. Upon development, the measurement data from the sensors are taken and compared with a reference. Finally, to validate its function in helping the learning process, SensorLab is also tested and surveyed to high school students as users and it could be inferred that majority of the respondents agrees to the impact it brings to the learning of Mechatronics.
