Abstract

TransJakarta is a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system characterized by dedicated, barrier-free priority lanes for buses. It has been conceptualized as a mass transportation mode to accommodate the intense economic and social activities within the capital city. This research aims to analyze the traffic navigation of TransJakarta and carbon emission monitoring by using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and HT Communication-2000 technology. The study encompasses a comprehensive 3-day observation period, focusing on critical indicators reflecting ground speed, carbon dioxide (CO2) levels, temperature, and carbon level. The study results indicate a strong correlation between traffic density and CO2 concentration. The CO2 levels were higher in the morning compared to the afternoon. The study pinpoints that the CO2 level along the TransJakarta corridors was recorded high and the air quality is not clean.
