N2 - Indonesia as an archipelago country with wide forests and abundant agricultural products has a great potential to use biomass as a fuel for powerplant in their remote area. In this work, the pilot scale throat-less downdraft gasifier was fabricated and tested for its ability, to be compared. Gasifier works continuously with stirrer using rice husk as fuel. The aim of the test is to determine the actual operation characteristic effect on temperature profile and performance of the gasifier (composition of producer gas, heating value producer gas, and gasifier's efficiency). ER from the previous test is known to be best at 0.23 and need to be hold, while making variation for: Flow in to and out from Reactor and controlling the fire face propagation. Simulation and experiment conclude that the optimum heating value producer gas and net. efficiency is produced by primary flow 2.84 Nm3/hour, suction flow 5.06 Nm3/hour, Char Removal Rate 3.37 kg/hour, and Feed Rate 10.5 kg/hour, which is 3.72 MJ/ Nm3 and 23 %.
