Abstract
Exclusive breastfeeding is very important to be given to babies because breastfeeding is one way to reduce maternal mortality (MMR) and infant mortality (IMR). Exclusive breastfeeding can reduce IMR and reduce 30,000 infant deaths in Indonesia and 10 million infant deaths in the world. The role of Puskesmas as the spearhead of health services in the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding programs is very important. This study aims to analyze the policy on exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the District X Health Center, East Jakarta. This study uses a qualitative method, research design Rapid Assessment Procedure (RAP). Data were collected using in-depth interviews (WM) to the head of the puskesmas, nutrition program holders, MCH program holders, and posyandu cadres. In addition, it is carried out with focus group discussions (FGD) to exclusively breastfed mothers and non-exclusive breastfeeding mothers. Furthermore, the data were analyzed thematically. The results show that the communication element is still not optimal, especially from the socialization and receipt of information, while the elements of resources, bureaucratic structure, and disposition have been implemented properly and integrated between all sectors, both internal and external.
