Abstract

Often the head of the room in managing nursing service management requires a lot of time, so it is difficult to do it without the help of others, therefore the absolute effort that needs to be done by the head of the room is to delegate the task to the team leader. Poor implementation of delegation can reduce the quality of nursing services. This study is a case study of situation analysis using a fishbone diagram approach with a grouping of five management tools, namely man, money, method, machine and material (5M). Data is obtained through interviews, observations, and secondary data collection in hospitals. The results obtained are the workload of the head of the room outside the description of the task, the function of directing the head of the room in delegation is not going well, so the delegation from the head of the room to the nursing team leader is not optimal. To overcome this problem, the head of the room must be able to carry out management functions optimally in delegating to the team leader and implementing nurse. The recommendations given are to provide the competencies needed by the head of the room in delegating to the team leader and implementing nurses through delegation training; by facilitating the delegation process through the proposed need for policies, procedures, and guidelines so that the head of the room has the maximum ability about delegation.
