abstract = "Ag2O/ZnO/NGP composites prepared by the one-pot microwave assisted method were used as an effective sonocatalyst for degradation of methylene blue (MB). X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and SEM were used to characterize the structure, composition, and morphology of the Ag2O/ZnO/NGP composites. It was found that the addition of 10wt.% NGP exhibited the best sonocatalytic activity, with a sonocatalytic degradation efficiency of about two times higher than that of the Ag2O/ZnO composite. The highly enhanced sonocatalytic efficiency is mainly attributed to the inhibition of charge carrier recombination owing to the presence of NGP. Finally, the effect of scavengers was studied, and we determined holes as the main active species.",
