N2 - Indonesia has more than seventeen thousand islands grouped into six corridors that span across the country. Considering the steady progress of economic development, evaluation to the national masterplan becomes critical in generating optimum industrial area mapping. The aim of this research is to investigate industrial development by taking into account the characteristics and potential resources in each economic corridor in Indonesia. The research will combine qualitative approach through a desk study, benchmarking, and in-depth interviews to obtain the targeted outputs. The findings of this study show that the priority of industrial development for each corridor is based on its regional potential and competitiveness. The industry types for all the six economic corridors consist of plantation processing industry, ICT industry, natural resources processing industry, aquaculture industry, and tourism industry. This paper also recommend urban and infrastructure development such as road, railway, new IT-based city to support the industrial development in terms of mobility and accessibility for both human and goods.
