A proposal of information quality framework: Integration information quality assessment and improvement strategies

Abstract

Web portals' enhancements depend on Information Quality (IQ) that signify customers' needs are being met by producers' directions. IQ assessment result is merely useful for IQ's improvement due to its lack of guidelines to formulate relevant strategies. This research proposes an IQ framework that integrates IQ assessment along with formulation strategies. Holistic results from IQ assessment were interpreted using SWOT and PEST analysis, to ensure formulated strategies were relevant with the identified problems. This research was conducted in Indonesia Kreatif, a web portal with deprived performance in IQ. The resulting formulated strategies reflect how the site's editors can improve the web portal appropriately. Enlarging the scope of information source and specifying detail target for articles productivity in its sub-domains are examples of the strategies resulted worth noting.
