Abstract

This paper describes a new simple speed estimator using fuzzy logic for improving motor drive performance at low speed with a low-resolution encoder. Since it uses a fuzzy algorithm, the proposed technique requires no system parameter or assumption for speed estimation. Through simulation and experiments, the proposed scheme enables the driving of a motor at 25 RPM.
