ジャカルタ市の都市カンポンにおける子どもの遊び実態 ─チキニ地区を事例に (ACTUAL CONDITION OF CHILDREN'S PLAY IN KAMPUNG IN JAKARTA ─ CASE STUDY OF CIKINI )

To clarify the actual conditions of children's play in kampung, high-density low-rise residential areas in urban Indonesia, a questionnaire survey was conducted for children in 3 different elementary schools in the center of Jakarta on four elements of play (time, place, people, method). One of target place is in kampung and the other two areas are with different habitation environment from kampung. Subsequently, an in-depth interview survey was supplemented by field observations. As a result, it was found that children in kampung are easier to get play outside and they tend to prefer outside play than children in different habitation environment. This is thought to be related to a sense of community security and a kampung’s unique habitation environment that is isolated from car traffic.
